It’s quite simple: a Friendship Partner is an American (individual, couple, family) that agrees to be a friend to an international student, couple or family. In agreeing to befriend an international, your basic intent is to get to know them and to let them get to know you. It’s no different than making friends with a new neighbour or co-worker – except that this new friend is from another country! You want to get to know about this person’s family, work, hobbies, and interests. You want them to get to know you and your family and to feel comfortable spending time with you.
