ESL Welcome Team Training (Thursday morning ESL School)

God has brought people from 80 countries to the Augusta metro and we have the delight to know them and the priviledge to serve them through small groups called English classes. The ESL School Welcome Team (formerly called Operations Team) shares a variety of roles to try and show our ESL students the hospitality of Christ.

This training event is for the Thursday morning ESL School Welcome Team.

Here is an overview of the Welcome Team and the roles shared by the people on the team.

“But I already know how to do my role, I don’t need training.”
Actually, the ESL Welcome Team has many roles on it, and everyone needs to know how to do several. In addition to that, some roles have changed since last semester in light of our new books and new assessment process and more.

“Why does everyone need to know how to do more than one role?”
Great question! Most roles do not take the whole time during a school session.

“I’m not sure I want to do more than the role I have been doing.”
No problem! Even though there is a ton to do on the Welcome Team, we want to try and find a balance for you so that you are neither bored, nor overwhelmed.

“But I may have a scheduling conflict.”
We just ask that you try to join us, but we understand if you cannot.

“Will it be recorded?”
Sorry, it will be too interactive to be able to record effectively (at least at our budget!).
