Lord, teach me to pray – Prayer Retreat and Advance
Is prayer ever hard for you? Welcome to our club! We are pray-ers whose heart-cry is “Lord, teach me to pray” (Luke 11:1). We simply know that we are desperate for His wisdom and power and not our own. If prayer seems daunting or even discouraging, then we especially invite you to come! One of our goals is to help remove specific barriers that normally discourage us from praying.
“But I’m not a part of International Link.”
That’s ok! Even if you are not a part of Link, we want to offer this time to connect with the Lord together.
“But I’m not a part of International Link.”
That’s ok! Even if you are not a part of Link, we want to offer this time to connect with the Lord together.
“What time? I’m not even sure I can participate the whole time.”
We’ll have a soft start at 8:30 am to say hi to one another and then formally start at 9:00 am. And it’s totally fine to come and go as you need for whatever part you can.
“What will we pray about?”
We will start by just spending time with the Lord, without focusing on requests. This is the ‘retreat’ portion. Then we will pray corporately for all the facets of International Link. We’ll try to give you enough info so you can pray with insight, but still limit our explanation time so that we can maximize prayer. In addition to praying with more insight, we think you will be encouraged by these brief updates as you learn more about what the Lord is doing.
“Should I eat beforehand?”
Only tea and coffee will be served (no lunch as in the past). You’re welcome to fast as others may be doing the same thing.
“How will we pray? What will we do?”
We’ll start out delighting in the Lord and His character, and then move to requests. The morning will be full of variety, including:
- corporate worship
- scripture
- alone time
- small groups
- large groups
- specific prayer requests for different areas of Link’s ministry
