0-1 hours per week; could be for one new contact only, but ideally you are helping for several weeks or even months.
Purpose statement
Help new contacts get integrated into Link as they want to. Without someone taking ownership for new contacts, they easily fall through the cracks, their needs are not met, and we miss the opportunity to connect with them.
Summary of goals
- Regularly pray for our new contacts, for example, that we would understand their needs, be able to communicate with them in spite of language and cultural barriers, that they would feel cared for, and that God’s kingdom would come in their life and the lives of their family members.
- Take ownership for a new international who reaches out to us to ensure that:
- we respond to their requests for information in a timely manner
- For each goal they express, you connect them to the ones who can help with that goal. At times, this may mean following up and even advocating for the international.
- It is not required, but it helps if you can monitor one or more Link communication channels:
- Link main phone # (could be voice or text)
- Respond to requests for information, such as questions about ESL classes & events (get with ESL Ministries Leader)
- Respond to requests for help, such as transportation (get with Link Care Team)
- Questions from supporting churches (get with Donors Manager or Partner and Volunteer Mobilization person)
- Link website chat
- Respond to requests for information / support
- Manage hours of availability
- May need to use Google Translate at times
- Respond to requests for information through social media
- Link main phone # (could be voice or text)
