Instructions / suggested best practices for recurring tasks:

• Class Team planning sheet (do on your own and with other volunteers on your Ministry Team)

• Reach out to students before, during, and after semester… try to stay connected.

• Optional: have an Assistant Teacher.

  • If we do not have enough teachers for there to be two teachers for each class, you may have the option to have an Assistant Teacher

  • Or even if we do have enough teachers for you to have a co-teacher, you can also opt to have an Assistant Teacher for the benefit of you and the students and for the development of the Assistant Teacher.

  • When they join you, talk with them about your goals and their goals. This Assistant Teacher planning questionnaire can facilitate that.

  • As they grow in their teaching ability, review and coach them on their lesson planning. If they ever have a whole lesson on their own, make sure to do this.

• ESL Students need help setting goals!

• teachers should set up a time with every new student to help them set and track goals and progress. perhaps for now just keep it simple: vocab.
