Purpose statement

So many of our new neighbors from other countries need a place to find friends. You can provide that environment by hosting a Conversation Cafe in your home.

The purpose of this event is to have a place to practice English, but even more to make space for trust and friendships to develop.

We love kids but this event is for adults only… we have other events that are intended for families with children (you can check the main Link site calendar to find those).

Conversation Cafe is intended to be logistically easier in order to just focus on people. So we try to avoid having food there, although it’s great if you can put out some tea and coffee. Light snacks would be optional.

Fill out volunteer application form (see "apply" in the main menu), Be approved as an in-person volunteer, Pass background check, Be an active participant of a local church
