Purpose statement

Our international friends come to ESL classes primarily to improve their English, so we want to try to offer quality ESL training to them. But providing quality ESL value is difficult with a volunteer teaching team. Your purpose is to help us provide that quality ESL without discouraging our volunteers. At the school level, you own adding English learning value.

Summary of goals

  • Regularly pray for us as a School to be able to provide quality English help.
  • Keep finger on pulse of quality / effectiveness of ESL teaching for our school, but without being “big brother”ish
  • Ensure that teachers have initial training (does not mean you have to do it, e.g. coordinate with overall ESL Ministry Leader)
  • Provide ongoing / refresher training for volunteers outside of class time, e.g. help conduct your School’s monthly Ministry Team meetings, specifically ESL training portion
  • Donate to MNA ESL to cover for teachers we’ve sent their way (get reimbursed from Link)
  • Receive & review lesson plans for Teachers regularly as a most basic way of having visibility into the English value we are trying to add
